Kay Weeks worked in the field of historic preservation for the National Park Service’s Cultural Programs in
Washington DC from 1975 to 2005. She developed—together with a team of architects, historians, landscape
architects and archeologists—professional standards and guidelines that govern the Federal Preservation Tax
Incentives Program and Historic Preservation Fund Grant Program. She edited, wrote, or participated in the development of some 40 Preservation Briefs, Technical Reports and Case Studies and served as Coordinator,
Outreach and Education, managing and fielding all public inquiries about the program. Probably the most
creative—and joyful—experience was initiating and writing two history/coloring books for younger audiences
in conjunction with Roxie Munro, a NYC illustrator. Over 10,000 of these books were sold and many more
given to schools across the country. Finally, she developed content and participated in the design of many

children, Alison and David. Alison, 46, is a dancer who lives with her partner in Portland, Oregon.
David, 44, is a certified personal trainer and inspirational speaker who makes his home in nearby Oella.
